Itinerary

Transfer to Antanarivo. Overnight in the Hotel Restaurant La Ribaudière Antananarivo, 4 star Hotel.

You will be picked up so early from your hotel because the only flight to Nosy Be leaves at 7:0 am. You will be picked up at the airport by a  tour guide and transferred to the hotel in Ramena Beach 18 km from Diego. Your breakfast will be waiting for you at the hotel and after that you can relax on the beach. Overnight in Hotel Lakana Ramena Diego, 4-star Hotel.

RAMENA
Ramena Beach is located directly at the village of Ramena, 18 kilometres from Diego Suarez, at the
entrance of Diego Suarez Bay – the second largest natural bay in the world. The beach is very popular among the day visitors of Diego town, especially on weekends. Ramena Beach is several kilometers long with a number of hotels and small local restaurants spread along the beach. At the south end of the beach there is a mangrove vegetation. This is a small lively fishing village in northern Madagascar. This place is known as a popular destination for swimming and relaxing on the beach.

Breakfast

Today will be long days because we will visit 2 different interesting places. After breakfast we will drive to Tsingy Rouge – named Red Tsingy. We will hike to one at a very interesting place. The hike will take about 2:00 hours. Then we will drive to Ankarana and have lunch at Chez Laurant Ankarana. Afterwards we will hike in Tsingy Ankarana on a colourful and bizarre landscape. The hike will take about 4:00 h. Then we make our way to Ankify for an overnight stay. This trip will take around 4 hours. Overnight in Ankify Lodge , 3 star Hotel.

Breakfast

After breakfast we will drive directly to Nosy Be with a boat and continue to Nosy Sakatia. The trip will take about 30 minutes till Nosy be. You will have lunch in Nosy Be and then you will be transferred to Nosy Sakatia Island by boat. On the way you will discover the beautiful landscape of northern Madagascar. Overnight in Hotel Danae Beach, 3 star Hotel.

NOSY SAKATIA
Nosy Sakatia is quiet and small, it is part of a protected ecosystem and famous for its orchids. It is an easy place to wander around and has several beautiful beaches. Snorkeling is excellent here and there are some excellent dive sites off the island, including a protected zone for green turtles. The island is located just off the west coast of Nosy Be.

Breakfast

After breakfast you will discover a special island of Madagascar named Nosy Iranja. You will go there by boat and the trip will take around 1:30 hour. There you will discover a open way between sea to a small island near Nosy Iranja. You can also visit the place. Additionally there is the possibility to have a look at a beautiful panorama. You can also swim there and spend your time on the beach. We will prepare lunch for you for free.Later in the afternoon you will return to Nosy Sakatia. Overnight in Hotel Danae Beach, 3 star Hotel.

Breakfast, Lunch

The journey is over. After breakfast you will transfer to Nosy Be by boat. You still have half a day to visit Nosy Be because the plane to Antananarivo leaves at 15:40 h. This means that you will be accompanied to the airport in the afternoon. You will arrive in Antananarivo at 17:15h and fly back home

Do I need a visa and passport to travel to Madagascar?

A visa is required to travel to the country as a tourist from Canada and the United States. It can be obtained prior to travelling or on arrival in Madagascar and is valid for 90 days. A valid passport for travel is mandatory. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date you enter Madagascar. 

UK Citizen 

 If you are visiting Madagascar for less than 15 days, there is no visa requirement. However, travellers must pay a 10 Euro administrative fee on arrival. You can buy a 30 or 60 day single entry tourist visa on arrival at the airport in cash using US$, Euros, or Malagasy Ariary.

When is the best time to travel to Madagascar?

The best time to visit the country is from April to mid-December, avoiding the wet season.

Is Madagascar a family-friendly destination?

Families with children under ten may struggle with the overall conditions of travelling within the country. Active families with teen age children and an adventurous spirit will have an amazing time exploring Madagascar.  

What vaccinations are suggested or required for travel to Madagascar?

There are no compulsory vaccinations required for Madagascar, however, we recommend you consult with your local travel clinic for the most up-to-date recommendations, particularly in regard to malaria prophylactics. Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required if you are coming from or have transited through an airport of a country where yellow fever occurs.
